Emily was first introduced to yoga in high school, however it wasn’t until later that its importance manifested and yoga became a driving force in her life. While working in Washington, D.C., she discovered that yoga provided the balance that she needed to stay healthy and happy.  From then on, yoga blossomed into a wellness and spiritual practice for her.

Emily completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training at The Studio DC in 2011 and has been teaching ever since. In her classes, through flow sequences and a focus on alignment, Emily hopes to safely and comfortably encourage students to open up to themselves and better understand their bodies.  In 2014 while living in Buenos Aires, Emily studied Reiki healing and completed levels 1 and 2.  The Reiki courses helped her connect the dots between chakra energetic work and the yoga practice.  This understanding brings a deeper power and introspection to her yoga practice, which she strives to infuse in her classes.

Through yoga, Emily is constantly reminded and in awe of the deep, inherent connection of life. She leaves classes feeling more connected through her body, mind, and heart. In every new city she has moved to, yoga connects her to wonderful communities full of inspiring and compassionate people. And during her yoga teacher training, she met and fell in love with the person who is now her super awesome husband.  The power and benefits of yoga are infinite and can be accessed by simply stepping foot on your mat.
