Valarie’s yoga journey began many years ago when a friend invited her to a class at a fitness center. After suffering for years with back pain from a car crash, she thought that the physical experience of yoga was what she needed, but as time went by began to realize that so much of her pain came from stress and she was literally “holding on” to it in her body. After years of practicing in various studios, she has come to appreciate the mind-body connection that yoga offers and the freedom it has given her to live life to the fullest. Valarie wanted to learn more and help others receive what yoga had given to her so when 2020 provided the downtime she needed to complete her first 200-hour training she jumped at the chance. While she learned a lot in this class, it was (of course) online and she missed the hands-on/in-person aspect of training. Valarie feels so fortunate to have stumbled on Trybe Teacher Training just 2 days before it was to start! Jen and Christina were just what she needed to feel prepared to begin teaching! Outside of Trybe, Valarie volunteers with women who are in recovery from addiction, teaching them all that yoga has given to her.

Valarie is a Registered Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance and has her 200-hour certification (twice, haha); she also holds certificates in Yin Yoga and Restorative Yoga and is currently working towards a 12-Step Yoga Certification.

Off the mat, Valarie loves walking in the Texas hill country with her red-heeler Ruby, reading, cooking, volunteering, and spending time with family and friends.
